Lithium Metal Polymer battery

>  Presentation

Lithium is the lightest of all known metals and has a very high electro-chemical potential : it is the best choice of material for use in electrodes. However, although lithium batteries have been used for many years in different applications, use of lithium metal in conjunction with liquid electrolyte has proven to be a problem.
A limited number of cycles and safety concerns associated with the use of lithium metal have led to its use becoming rather restricted. In a large number of applications, lithium battery is the leading technology mainly with lithium ion technology which requires lithiated oxides and liquid electrolyte. Some of the above problems are partially solved but to the prejudice of specific energy and safety.

As the results of many years of research and development, batScap has designed a Lithium Metal Polymer battery which allows full exploitation of characteristics of lithium metal meanwhile taking into account safety, lifetime and cost issues.
